John Tye joined Einhorn Engineering in June of 2021 as an intern and returned full time in 2022 after graduating from the University of Washington with a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
During his time at UW, John Tye was heavily involved in the UW Hyperloop team. He gained both design and analysis experience as part of the propulsion subteam with a focus on designs for a nitrogen thruster and linear induction motor. His senior capstone project gave him the opportunity to use system dynamics and control theory to design a PID control scheme to optimize energy generation for a rotating pendulum wave energy converter.
In his free time, John Tye enjoys playing soccer, snowboarding, running, biking, playing piano, and going to the gym.
