This June the R/V Sally Ride will be delivered to Scripps Institution of Oceanography (SIO). SIO will be the ship’s Operator. The Ride replaces the R/V Melville which was recently retired from the AGOR fleet. The R/V Sally Ride was designed by Guido Perla & Associates, Inc. (Seattle, WA) and built at Dakota Creek Industries in Anacortes, WA. Deck machinery was provided by Allied Systems (Sherwood, OR) and Markey Machinery (Seattle, WA)…a proud product of the Pacific Northwest!
Out stem to stern tour will be lead in two groups by the ship’s Master Tom Desjardinis and the ship’s chief engineer, Paul Bueren.
